Vegas Guide to the DNC 08

I've never understood why the political parties don't have their conventions in Vegas. Vegas has an infrastructure and atmosphere built for conventions. Conventioneers will have a better time in Vegas and there are no political motives on selection of the host city. Vegas is agnostic when it comes to politics, one person's money spends as good as the next.

Plus, with conventions always in Vegas, as Richard Abowitz points out, pollsters and the media can get an early straw poll on the candidates' popularity by the number of attendees to their respective parties.

Since voting is like gambling, and the issues at-hand such as the recession, energy prices and online gambling impact Vegas' bottom-line, more so than a lot of other cities, we've sent a Digital City blogger to the DNC in Colorado to keep tabs on the liberals and their Rocky Mountain high.

Filmmaker Rachel Goslins is at the Democratic national Convention for her work with the Impact Film Festival of which she is the Programming Director.

You could make your own trip to Denver, but 728 miles worth of gas is a lot of money. Let Rachel be your eyes and ears.
