Fletch for Fantasy
I have a sweet job. I'm not even going to pretend that I don't.
I've had some real fine gigs (club DJ, marketing guru, journalist, filmmaker, restaurateur, performance artist, comedian, local celebrity, poet, priest), but living and working in Vegas seems to combine everything I believe in, almost as if I've been training for this my whole life.
Running Vegas Pop and AOL Vegas combines work and play in one of the coolest cities on the planet. Quite often, the line between work and play is a little fuzzy, like the felt in my favorite poker room.
I don't think or act like the other kids and I love that about me. I believe you have to enjoy life to the fullest and do your best to try and help others enjoy life as well.
I feel like I should part with some sort of meaningful lyric or Bukowski poem that sums up my existence, but there's too many too choose from. Some of life's greatest philosophies have come in songs: Motley Crue, Van Halen, Kenny Rogers, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Public Enemy, Eddie Jefferson, Lou Reed, Frank Sinatra.
So I will leave you with a line from Elvis' 'Nightlife' -- appropriately from the "Viva Las Vegas" soundtrack. "You can't be a quitter, when you're caught up in the glitter of nightlife."
